UTC - 92122

University City is a community in the city of San Diego. More commonly referred to as UTC, this region is also called the Golden Triangle as it is bounded by three freeways; I-5 to the west, 805 to the northeast, and 52 to the south. The UTC Shopping Mall (Westfield Mall) is located near the center of University City, while the campus of UCSD, from whom the town derives its name, is to the west. The local high school is University High School. A lot of residents refer to the area simply as part of La Jolla though it's direct proximity to La Jolla is directly east,which is west of I-5. It is, compared to La Jolla, a great alternative to those who would like to spend less money on a UTC condo or home. A lot of UTC condos names start with La Jolla, I believe it is wishful thinking.

UTC'S Nobel Recreation Center

Located on the east end of UC the center was completed in 2007. The facilities joint project  features 30-acre of municipal park with children’s play areas, off-leash dog park, two softball fields (one lighted) two soccer fields, a multi-purpose fields, shaded picnic tables, barbeque pits, exercise circuit, outdoor basketball, and comfort station. Community buildings include a 16,100 sq. ft branch library, and 10,200 sq. ft. gymnasium/recreation center. The site also features public art displays. Truly a state-of-the-art recreation area.
